Subject: RE: Way to periodically query for new messages
Hi Mike,
If your server supported the IDLE command, aspNetIMAP also supports it.

Basically, you put aspNetIMAP in IDLE mode, and it waits for the server to notify aspNetIMAP when a new message has arrived. This is a push technology, rather than a poll technology. When a message arrives, aspNetIMAP will raise an event, and notify your code, that their is a new message.

Does that help?

To post a code snippet, please enclose the code in

blocks. For example
EmailMessage = new EmailMessage();
m.To = "test@test.com";
* In order to reduce SPAM BOTS from harvesting email addresses, only the alias part of the email address will be shown.
For example: 'test@test.com' will become 'test@...'.

We are requiring the address, in case we would like to contact you privately about your situation. However, if you still don't feel comfortable submitting it, you can always use 'bob@example.com' ;-)

Testimonial

Just wanted to let you know that I had the company that I'm consulting for acquire a site license for aspNetEmail primarily due to the support you gave me when I needed it, although I also can see it is great software. "
