Hi Colin,
Actually just replied to your other email (it may be in your spam folder).

In .NET, strings are stored internally as UTF-16. However, not all characters are 2 bytes, so, if you actually take ascii bytes, and directly try to convert it to UTF-16, you will lose charaters.

Can you send me a screenshot of exactly what you are seeing?
